Ingredients for “Acidic Cleaning-in-Place [CIP]”
Limescale deposits seriously shorten the lifetime of pumps, pipes, coolers and boilers. Cleaning providers rely on acidic cleaning products to keep equipment free of scale. Products used for acidic cleaning-in-place (CIP) need to be fast-acting, safe for staff to use, and ideally kind to the environment.
Conventional acidic cleaners (with nitric or phosphoric acid or others) get the job done -but multiple rinsing steps are required, and the environmental and health and safety impact of the acids is significant. BASF has developed a new generation of acidic CIP cleaners that save water and energy, have a lower environmental footprint, clean faster and better (can even save a cleaning step), and can be used safely on a broad range of surfaces.
