Cleaning conveyor belts, pipes and tanks usually means halting production – so time is at a real premium for these Cleaning-in-Place processes. The last thing crews need is a cleaning agent that goes overboard on foam production and takes an age to rinse off.

The obvious solution is to add a defoaming agent to the cleaner. However, being hydro-phobic, conventional defoamers are difficult to use in water-based products. They also have a tendency to build up on plastic parts.
