No clogging the pores

Membranes are a key part of food processing. They are used in dairy, for treating water used to brew beer, and for preparing concentrates. Over time, scaling and biofouling can impair effectiveness. Conventional nonionic surfactants do remove biofouling, but are thought to clog membrane pores. If food producers do use these agents, they risk voiding equipment warranties.

BASF solutions provide a fresh approach, with nonionic surfactants that are demonstrated never to compromise the integrity of the membrane. They clean better and faster, are non-foaming, and also readily biodegradable.
